Naples. New fascinating spaces were inaugurated today at the Royal Palace of Naples: the Belvedere, the Factory Museum, a new ticket office and a welcoming area in the Courtyard of Honor, in addition to the temporary exhibition “Four centuries of history: the factory of the Royal Palace”.
The Belvedere, nestled on the roof of the Palace and overlooking the Molosiglio, offers a breathtaking panoramic view of the Gulf of Naples from a unique perspective.
An unusual route through the attics leads to the Belvedere tower, never opened to the public before since its construction in 1837, which starting from September will be included in the guided tour itineraries of the Royal Palace.
The Factory Museum, located on the ground floor, tells the story of the Palace through audiovisual works and installations, 3D models and engaging reconstructions. The museum serves as an introduction to the visit of the Appartamento di Etichetta and the entire monumental complex.
The exhibition “Four centuries of history: the factory of Palazzo Reale”, set up in the Galleria del Genovese on the main floor until September 3, retraces the history of the Palace through works of art that document its evolution and historical events.
The new entrance, with ticket office, cloakroom and a large reception and information area, was designed by architect Giovanni Francesco Frascino in line with the main entrance in Piazza del Plebiscito.
The Cortile d'Onore, thanks to the new museum and the reception area, will become a true cultural hub, a meeting place and event venue open to the city.
