From extortion to pizzerias in the historic center, to construction companies on Via Duomo, to extortion from illegal parking attendants, to money laundering, to drug trafficking on the island of Ischia run by the Cella brothers and then the management of the drug dealing hub on Via Carbonari in Forcella.
But there were also ambushes, three attempted murders, the need for peace to invest in the food and beverage business of the nightlife. The drug dealing in Piazza Bellini was outsourced to non-EU citizens, and even a €15-a-day protection money paid to all the prostitutes who "work" in the slums and streets of central Naples.
All this is in the almost 500 pages of the precautionary order signed by the investigating judge Luca Rossetti of the 21st section of the Court of Naples and which this morning, thanks to the investigation coordinated by the DDA of Naples, has brought to prison 17 members of the Giuliano, Carldarelli and Paranza di San Gaetano clans headed by Salvatore Marino, all federated with the Mazzarella.
While 6 others ended up under house arrest. In total there are 36 suspects while a 37th, Rocco Tommaselli, a top man of the Caldarelli clan of Case Nuove has since died.
And the order reveals the Giuliano group's arrogance in demanding protection money from the prostitutes of Forcella. Ciro Oliviero acts as the collector on behalf of Alessio Vicorito, and Salvatore Giuliano 'o Russo shows up to collect the money.
