Two jazz legends will take to the same stage: John Scofield and Dave Holland will perform in an unmissable concert at the Pomigliano Jazz festival in Campania.
On Wednesday, July 17, 2024, the Roman Amphitheater of Avella will be the evocative setting for the duet between these extraordinary musicians, on the occasion of the 29th edition of the festival directed by Onofrio Piccolo.

John Scofield: An Influential Guitarist
John Scofield, born in 1951, will be participating for the first time at Pomigliano Jazz. Considered one of the most influential guitarists of the last forty years, he began his career with groups such as Gerry Mulligan, Chet Baker, Billy Cobham & George Duke, Charles Mingus, Gary Burton and David Liebman. In 1982, Scofield joined Miles Davis' band, contributing his personal style to the jazz-rock genre. His rise as a leader was confirmed by the records released for Blue Note, which brought his career to new levels without a break. Among his most notable collaborations are those with Pat Metheny and, since 1998, the trio Medeski Martin & Wood.
Dave Holland: A Pillar of Jazz
Contemporary Dave Holland, a frequent guest at Pomigliano Jazz, boasts a career spanning over five decades leading innovative projects in contemporary jazz. Recognized as an undisputed master of double bass and electric bass, Holland was a member of Miles Davis' band and contributed to landmark albums such as "In A Silent Way" and "Bitches Brew." As a leader, he has recorded over 30 albums and participated in hundreds of recordings with greats such as Chick Corea, Thelonious Monk, Wayne Shorter, Pat Metheny, Joe Lovano, and Bill Frisell, to name a few.

Tickets to attend the John Scofield and Dave Holland concert at the Roman amphitheater in Avella, introduced by the Francesco Nastro DRIN Quartet, will be available from Tuesday, July 2 at 14:10 p.m. on the Azzurro Service and Vivaticket circuits and at the main regional sales points. Tickets can be purchased at special prices until Wednesday, July 35: 25 euros + presale for the gold seats, 20 euros + presale for the armchair, and 40 euros + presale for the parterre. After that, the prices will be 30 euros, 25 euros, and 18 euros respectively. For children under 15, tickets have a reduced price of XNUMX euros + presale fees.
