The demolition of the former scientific high school located in Corso Umberto I will begin in a few days, as announced by Mayor Giorgio Zinno. This intervention marks an important step in urban redevelopment, giving the city an equipped area free from a structure abandoned for over twenty years.

The demolition and material removal operations will last approximately three weeks, from July 17th to August 8th. To ensure safety, the affected section of Corso Umberto I will be temporarily closed. The traffic ban will be in effect from 7:00 a.m. on July 17th until 23:00 p.m. on August 8th, and a one-way system will be implemented between Via Martiri della Libertà and Via Botteghelle. Special signage will indicate alternative routes for vehicular traffic.

“We understand that these measures may cause some inconvenience – declared Mayor Zinno – But we chose this time to minimize the difficulties, especially before the start of the school year. The demolition of the former high school is a long-awaited project that will restore dignity and beauty to the area. It's a commitment we've made to the residents and a complex project that we hope to complete by the fall.

The area freed up by demolition will become a functional and well-equipped space, helping to transform this portion of the territory. The demolition, which will be selective, required the preliminary removal of panels, fixtures, pipes, and flooring, carried out in collaboration with theAsl to ensure maximum environmental safety. The materials will be disassembled and recycled as much as possible, increasing the sustainability of the project.
