Serie A is ready to unveil the fixtures for the 2024/25 season. Tomorrow at 12:17 p.m., live on the League's official channels and on Radio TV Serie A with RDS, the fixture draw for the new season will take place. The season kicks off on August 25th with the first early matches. Among these, as per tradition, will be reigning Italian champions Inter Milan. The season will conclude on May 2025, XNUMX.
The League Serie A announced today the criteria for compiling the fixtures. Among the main rules is the complete alternation of home and away matches for the derbies between Inter Milan and Milan, Lazio and Roma, Empoli and Fiorentina, and Juventus and Torino. The asymmetrical fixture schedule has also been confirmed, with a different sequence of matches in the first half of the season than in the second half, ensuring at least eight matchdays between matches against the same opponent.
Derby matches will be scheduled on different matchdays and cannot be played on either the first or last matchday, nor on matchday ten, when the season's only midweek round will be played. Furthermore, teams participating in the Champions League will not face teams competing in the Europa League or Conference League on matchdays 5, 6, 22, 25, 28, 32, and 35, which fall between two consecutive rounds of UEFA competitions.
Key dates for the season include the four FIFA windows (September 8, October 13, November 17, March 23) during which the league will pause. During the Christmas period, it will be played on the weekends of December 22, December 29 and January 5, without breaks. There will be nine match time slots, spread from Friday to Monday.
In the first two matchdays, matches will be played from Saturday to Monday, starting at 18:30 and 20:45. A significant change concerns the last two matchdays of the championship, in which matches between clubs competing for the same objectives will be played simultaneously. Lega Serie A has also announced the dates of the 2024/25 Coppa Italia, which will start on August 4 with the preliminary round, while the final is scheduled for May 14, 2025.
