Naples. Two gunshots were fired last night in Vico Campanile ai Santi Apostoli. There are no injuries, but only shell casings on the ground and a lot of fear among the residents.

Two gunmen riding a scooter wanted to make their criminal presence felt in the area where only last week there was a raid that led to the imprisonment of 22 people from clans affiliated with the Mazzarella.

The police investigations are oriented towards thinking that it was an act of intimidation to mark the territory, thanks to the power vacuum created by the arrests of the Mazzarella-Julian.

But it is not excluded that it is a delayed response to the wounding of the cousin of the boss Eduardo Saltalamacchia. But also an impromptu Camorra strategy typical of periods of absence of bosses at liberty.

A stretch to mark the territory after the blitz

Fortunately, the bullets did not hit people, buildings or vehicles. Those who fired while screaming in the street aimed high, knowing that they were not supposed to cause damage, but only terror. And so it was.

The message has arrived and now it remains to be seen whether the shooting at the Decumani is the beginning of a new escalation of violence, as reported in the Naples news in recent weeks in the city center.
