Scenes from a western movie this morning on State Road 16, in the stretch that connects San Pietro Vernotico to Torchiarolo, on the border between the provinces of Lecce and Brindisi.
An armored van was attacked by a commando of criminals who fired shots and set fire to several cars in both directions, causing panic among the many motorists who were on the busy road at the time, one of the main communication routes for tourists who flock to Puglia in the summer.
