More than 100.000 cubic meters of waste seized, 9 areas and activities under seizure, 11 reports and one arrest for arson.
These are the results of an intense joint operation between the police forces of Naples and Caserta, carried out in the municipalities of Casandrino, Grumo Nevano, and Sant'Antimo, as part of the new strategy to combat the illegal disposal of construction and demolition waste.
The operation, coordinated by the Ministry of the Interior's official for combating arson, involved the Carabinieri, Guardia di Finanza, Local Police, and Army, with technical support from ARPAC.
Primary objective: combating the use of waste in by-products and secondary raw materials used in construction projects, preventing their illegal disposal.
The activities:
Three sites and warehouses were seized: located with the help of Guardia di Finanza helicopters, they contained over 3 cubic meters of various types of waste.
6 reports to the judicial authorities and 3 businesses seized: for environmental and administrative violations.
An irregular textile factory identified: fined for an amount of 52 thousand euros.
Checks in the nomad camp on Via Carrafiello in Giugliano: 2 vehicles seized, almost 20 thousand euros in fines, arrest of a Roma citizen for arson.
