A British tourist was raped in Sorrento by a former employee of a downtown shop. The man, a 32-year-old Italian of Tunisian origin, was sentenced to eight years in prison in a fast-track trial.
The assault occurred last summer. The woman, after sharing a drink with the man, was persuaded to follow him to a secluded spot where she was raped. The attack was captured on surveillance cameras.
