The "Vietri Cultura" program, promoted by the municipal administration led by Giovanni De Simone and the Councilor for Culture and Events, Daniele Benincasa, opens on Thursday, July 4th with the first musical offering of "Vietri in Scena."
The event, now in its ninth year and conceived and artistically directed by Maestro Luigi Avallone, will feature the Salerno Jazz Orchestra along with special guest Anthony Strong. The concert will be held at the Villa Comunale in Vietri sul Mare at 21:XNUMX PM, with free admission.

The Salerno Jazz Orchestra (SJO) is composed of top-tier musicians from Salerno, supported by emerging young musicians, and is directed by Stefano Giuliano. In the Salerno and national jazz scene, the SJO is highly regarded for its high-profile collaborations and for performing repertoire arranged by renowned composers. With an intense activity spanning ten years, the SJO has become a symbol of Salerno jazz. Among the great names with whom the orchestra has performed are Tom Harrell, Peter Erskine, Randy Brecker, and many others.
Anthony Strong: A Guest Star of International Caliber
Anthony Strong, a musician of immense talent and effortless charm, is the guest of honor at the July 4th concert. This classic English gentleman achieved great success with his recent EP "Delovely," which reached #1 on the UK jazz charts. Strong has collaborated with artists such as Paloma Faith, Tony Christie, and jazz legend Buddy Greco, and recently made his European debut, selling out the prestigious Duc Des Lombard in Paris and appearing at several international festivals.

A Career on the Rise
Anthony Strong began his career as a jazz piano student at the Guildhall School of Music in London and quickly established himself as a sought-after session musician. He has collaborated with artists such as Michael Bolton, Marti Pellow, Beverley Knight, and Kyle Eastwood. His admiration for jazz icons such as Oscar Peterson, Bill Evans, and Wynton Kelly has also led him to embrace singers such as Frank Sinatra, Mel Torme, and Nat King Cole. Strong also played Jerry Lee Lewis in the show "Million Dollar Quartet" in London's West End.

Strong's new album, "On a Clear Day," features a repertoire that ranges from classic jazz standards to early Stevie Wonder and Motown tunes.
