Another day of fires in Irpinia. There have been over sixty interventions to put out fires in forests, Mediterranean scrub and scrubland that have affected the entire province in a patchy manner in the last 24 hours. Particularly complex was the one that saw four teams of Firefighters engaged for many hours in the Castruzzo district in the municipality of Calabritto.
To address the emergency, two teams from Florence and Arezzo arrived yesterday evening to support the provincial firefighters. The latest fire occurred in the Melito Irpino area, where flames threatened a home on Via Vicinale. A Carabinieri patrol responded and, pending the subsequent response of the firefighters, ordered the family's evacuation as a precaution.
