The fight against illegal construction on the island of Ischia continues. The Carabinieri of the Ischia branch, in collaboration with the municipal technical offices, have reported four people for illegal construction in Forio and Barano d'Ischia.
In Forio, a house was significantly expanded without the necessary permits, with the construction of new rooms and outbuildings. A large warehouse was also built illegally.
Investigations revealed that a 65-square-meter building had been constructed for residential use, along with a 10-square-meter extension to the original 30-square-meter building, which had been expanded by another 20 square meters.
Thus creating a new home compared to the original plan.
The illegal works also saw the construction of a warehouse of approximately 68 square meters while all the housing units already had insulated sheet metal and zinc roofs.
In Barano, however, the Carabinieri of the local station reported 2 more people. The client and owner together with the director of the works had built a driveway and retaining walls in via Maronti that were higher and wider than the permits, as well as brick stairs and a concrete driveway 10 mXNUMX long.
In Barano, to carry out the abuses, they also eliminated the municipal deterrents
All this by removing the metal bollards that the municipality of Barano d'Ischia had installed.
The illegal buildings had been built in areas subject to seismic and environmental restrictions.
The carabinieri seized everything.
