The Civil Protection of the Region Campania, in consideration of the evaluations of the Functional Center, has issued a weather alert with Yellow criticality for sudden, rapid and intense rain and thunderstorms, throughout the regional territory starting from 12 noon to midnight tomorrow.
This is what is stated in a statement. Thunderstorms will be characterized by forecast uncertainty and rapid development. Lightning, hail, and strong winds are also expected.
Civil Protection officials warn that hydrogeological risks must be addressed: the main consequences of rain and storm impacts include flooding, rising water levels in rivers, water flowing onto roads, runoff carrying debris, rockfall, and landslides, especially given soil saturation or fragile hydrogeological conditions.
Due to the gusts of wind, public greenery and the correct maintenance of structures exposed to stress must be monitored. Municipalities are reminded to activate the COC (Municipal Operations Centers), to pay attention to the communications of the Unified Regional Operations Room and to implement all measures to prevent, combat and mitigate the expected phenomena, in line with the respective municipal civil protection plans.
