An elderly disabled woman died overnight at the hospital in Praia a Mare, in the Cosenza province, after being hit by a car, for reasons currently under investigation, along with her caregiver, who was injured, on the Tortora seafront.
The victim, Maria Maggio, 88 years old, resident in Saint Antimo, municipality of the metropolitan city of Naples, was in a wheelchair and with her was the carer who accompanied her.

The two women were hit by a car whose driver is currently under investigation. The judicial authorities have ordered the seizure of the elderly woman's body for an autopsy. The car has also been seized.
The Carabinieri, along with paramedics from 118, arrived at the scene of the accident and began an investigation to reconstruct the exact circumstances of the accident.
