The beating heart of Cattolica, Piazza Mercato, was the scene of an attempted robbery gone wrong yesterday evening.
A man, his face hidden by a balaclava, burst into the local pharmacy brandishing a gun, which later turned out to be a harmless toy. With a trembling but determined voice, he ordered the pharmacist to open the register.
Terrified, the woman obeyed, handing over to the criminal the little cash in the cash register.
But the robber had not counted on the reaction of the pharmacy owner, a man of few words but unexpected courage.
