The prisoner who escaped from the prison had left on a bicycle Avellino but thanks to the joint action of the Penitentiary Police and the officers of the Police Headquarters' Flying Squad, he was recaptured and taken back to his cell.
The 25-year-old prisoner, who is serving a sentence for possession of narcotics, assault and aggravated theft, managed to elude the surveillance of the only officer who controls two sections of the prison late yesterday evening and reach the external courtyard.

A 25-year-old drug dealer arrested on the highway in Avellino with cocaine, hashish, and marijuana.
Using a nearby bicycle, he passed the perimeter fences and took the provincial road, heading into a wooded area. Tailed by the officers, he abandoned the bicycle and fled on foot.
He was found hiding in the brambles and taken back to his cell. He was reported for escape.
