Killer caregiver Mario Eutizia confirmed before the preliminary investigations judge that he killed four terminally ill elderly people out of mercy.
Eutizia, who has been in prison in Santa Maria Capua Vetere since August 22, did not provide further details on the murders nor did she mention other cases among the approximately thirty elderly people she has assisted over the past ten years.
During the hearing to validate his arrest, Eutizia, who suffers from diabetes and other medical conditions, appeared very physically strained, so much so that his lawyers, Gennaro Romano and Antonio Daniele, had to support him.
He told GIP Alessandra Grammatica that he was physically unable to continue, but assured his cooperation, promising to reveal any further details to the Prosecutor's Office.
The GIP asked for information on the current residence of Eutizia, who since March, after having stopped working as a carer for the last elderly person in Vibonati (the fourth confessed victim), has been homeless
Separated from his ex-wife, who lives in Naples, he also has a 25-year-old daughter. In the coming days, the investigating judge will decide whether to keep Eutizia in prison or place her under house arrest in a facility that can provide the necessary care.
