Ischia has put a stop to beach swindlers. This morning, a task force composed of the Coast Guard and the Municipal Police dealt a severe blow to those who were illegally occupying public beaches with umbrellas and deckchairs, thus "reserving" the best spots for the entire season.
The operation, aimed at countering an unfortunately widespread phenomenon, led to the seizure of an entire van full of beach equipment abandoned on the beach during the night.
Sunbeds, deckchairs, deckchairs deckchair and even inflatable mattresses: everything that served to “mark the territory” and keep other swimmers away has been removed.
The checks were concentrated in the areas of San Pietro and Mandra, where the abuse of permanently occupying free spaces was most frequent.
