The analyses of the investigative apparatuses engaged in the metropolitan area of Naples highlight situations sometimes conditioned by the deep-rooted presence of Camorra-type associations.
The same analyses reveal how, in some areas, the temporary absence of dominant groups can determine forms of heated conflict within criminal contexts.
These are scenarios that involve the forces of Police and the Judiciary to intercept any possible criminal evolution and the ability to camouflage the Camorra associations that in Campania, as elsewhere, increasingly tend to replace the use of violence with strategies based on corrupt and intimidating actions".
The Minister of the Interior Matteo said this Crying himself at question time in the Chamber of Deputies.
“With respect to this picture, the Ministry of the Interior is paying maximum attention, both in terms of preventing and combating the infiltration of organised crime into the legal economy and in terms of protecting local administrations from mafia interference, also through the constant monitoring action ensured on the territory by the Prefectures.
It is sufficient to recall, in this regard - he added - the 21 dissolutions of municipal councils for mafia reasons (6 of which in Campania) and the 19 extensions (5 of which in Campania) adopted under this Government, as well as the 22 Access Commissions activated in the municipalities, the last of which was arranged yesterday for the municipality of Caserta".
“The data relating to the anti-mafia measures interdictions adopted by the Prefects against individuals linked to organized crime, as many as 129 in the Metropolitan City of Naples alone in the first 7 months of 2024 – he underlines – It is in this context that some recent initiatives to strengthen the exchange of information between the District Attorney's Offices and the Prefectures and to strengthen the inter-force anti-mafia groups are placed, aimed at making the fight against the expansion of organized crime in economic activity and in public administrations even more effective.
On the basis of the data reported above, which demonstrate the constant commitment of this Ministry and its peripheral branches on the issue, the Honourable questioners can therefore be sure that each situation will be adequately addressed".
