On Friday, August 23, at 10:30 a.m., the funeral of Nicola Iorio , the 19-year-old who died last August 18 in a violent collision between two jet skis in Albania, the country where the young man was on holiday, will take place in the Spirito Santo Parish in Casal di Principe.
The mayor of Casal di Principe, Ottavio Corvino, signed an ordinance ordering mourning on the day of the funeral, with flags being flown at half-mast in municipal offices and a minute's silence at the beginning of the service.
Business owners are required to keep their shutters down as a sign of "mourning and respect" for the young man and his loved ones. In addition, tomorrow, "for reasons of safety and public order, of mourning and a sign of closeness to the family" the weekly fair planned will be suspended "also considering the proximity of the market area to the home of the deceased young man".
“The entire administration – it reads – joins the family of the young man who passed away, offering with this ordinance our deepest condolences for the serious and unexpected loss of our fellow citizen”.
Meanwhile, investigations continue into the death of the 19-year-old, who died in the hospital in Scutari where he had been admitted in very serious conditions due to the injuries he sustained. The Albanian authorities have arrested, on charges of manslaughter, an Italian boy, brother-in-law of the victim, and seized the two jet skis involved in the accident.
