A mid-August holiday to forget was spent by a 44-year-old from Caserta who yesterday afternoon, following yet another attack suffered by her partner, decided to dial the emergency number "112" and ask the police for help.
The soldier on duty at the Operations Centre of the local Company, having noticed that his interlocutor was upset and agitated by the dangerous situation that had led her to ask for help, immediately sent one of the patrols of the Operations and Radiomobile Unit in the circuit to the indicated address.
The carabinieri, already present in the city center on the occasion of the intensification of the territorial control services, prepared for the day of August, reached the woman's home in a few minutes.
Inside the apartment they found the 44-year-old woman, emotionally distressed, clutching their three-year-old son in her arms.
After reassuring her, the soldiers noticed that the woman had a large bruise on her left leg, several abrasions on her right thigh and other bruises on her right arm.
They immediately requested the intervention of healthcare personnel from the 118 service who provided her with the necessary care within a few minutes.
She reported that following an argument over trivial matters that had occurred the previous night in her parents' home, her partner had attacked her with kicks and punches to the head, threatening to kill her.
Terrified and in pain, this morning, taking advantage of the fact that the man had fallen asleep, she managed to escape and take refuge in the family home.
Despite this, the attacker, having noticed their absence, reached them and, in a fit of rage over their refusal to let him in, violently damaged the front door of the house without being able to gain access inside.
Subsequently, after reaching the balcony on the first floor by climbing the gutters, he broke the glass of one of the windows and entered the house.
At that moment, terrified, she called “112”. Immediately, having become aware that the attacker was still inside the apartment, they identified him and blocked him in one of the adjacent rooms.
The man, who had injured himself while breaking the glass of the window, was rescued and treated by the medical staff who attended.
After the formal procedures he was arrested and placed under house arrest at the home of a relative. He will have to answer for aggravated mistreatment against cohabiting family members.
