A fatal road accident occurred this morning on the A1 motorway, in the municipality of San Nicola la Strada , where a 43-year-old man died after becoming trapped in the wreckage of the van he was travelling in.
Initial investigations revealed that the vehicle in which the 43-year-old and other passengers were travelling hit another van in front of it.
The man was trapped and the Fire Brigade of the Caserta Provincial Command had to intervene to cut the sheet metal and free him, but when they extracted him he was already dead.
The road remained closed for the duration of the intervention, with serious repercussions on traffic.
