Jazz Music and Fine Wines at the “Montecorice DiVino Jazz Festival”

IThe "Montecorice DiVino Jazz Festival" celebrates its tenth edition, promising a unique aesthetic experience combining signature jazz music and tastings of fine Cilento wines. The event will be held on August 23rd and 24th in Piazza San Biagio, in the heart of the village of Montecorice.

### A Synesthesia of Senses

The festival represents a synesthesia of senses, uniting musical art and the pleasure of taste in a compendium of high artistic and cultural value. This combination not only entertains, but also favors the rooting of cultural and musical initiatives in the territorial context. Music and taste are thus transformed into emotional vehicles for the redevelopment of the territory.

### The Origin of the Festival

The “Montecorice DiVino Jazz Festival” was conceived in 2013 by the Culture Office of the Municipality of Montecorice, thanks to the commitment of the manager Annibale Catania and with the artistic direction of Dr. Giuseppe Reale. Since 2024, the festival is part of the Campania Region project “Rete dei Borghi del Jazz,” involving municipalities such as Laurino, Montecorice, Vallo della Lucania, Ispani and Teggiano. The goal is to expand the event and make it distinctive of the territory.

### Concerts and Notable Artists

The opening of the festival, on August 23, will see the participation of Nino Buonocore at 22:15 pm, with a live show that retraces his career in a jazz key. With him, high-caliber musicians such as Pino Tafuto, Antonio De Luise, Amedeo Ariano and Max Ionata will perform. The evening will be preceded by the presentation of the album “Qualcosa di vero nel mondo” by Luciano Tarullo and the performance of the duo Pino Melfi and Giacomo Aula.

The August 24 program will feature Joyce Elaine Yuille, accompanied by Elio Coppola, Antonio Capasso and Antonio Napolitano, with the special participation of saxophonist Jerry Weldon. The performance will be introduced by Querencia Duo and the morning activities, including a masterclass by maestro Max Ionata.

### Cilento Wines and Tastings

The festival's tradition of combining jazz music with Cilento wine tasting will be maintained thanks to the collaboration of the Cilento section of the Italian Sommelier Association (AIS Campania). Several prestigious wineries participate in the event, exhibiting some of the best wines of the area.

Annibale Catania, responsible for Culture and Tourism of the Municipality of Montecorice, emphasizes how the festival aims to combine high-quality music and wine tasting, contributing to the promotion of emerging talents and jazz culture in a unique cultural context.
