As part of an investigation coordinated by the Benevento Public Prosecutor's Office, the Carabinieri of Cerreto Sannita and Solopaca executed a precautionary custody order against four OSS (healthcare workers) accused of mistreating elderly residents of a nursing home in Cerreto Sannita.
The investigations, also conducted through environmental interceptions, revealed that the operators, since January 2024, had beaten, insulted and humiliated the guests, often not self-sufficient or disabled.
The abuse allegedly occurred in the presence of other elderly people, creating a climate of terror within the facility.
The evidence against those arrested is extensive and substantial, including testimonies from other residents, wiretapped telephone conversations, and videos recorded inside the nursing home. The suspects have been banned from residing in the municipality of Cerreto Sannita.
