The courage and importance of reporting: the ogre husband in prison and she and her children safe in a family home.

Yet another story of violence against women comes from Pompeii, where a 40-year-old woman was rescued by the Carabinieri after being abused by her husband for four years.

Despite being pregnant, she had been kicked, punched, insulted and attempted to suffocate. The 40-year-old mother of two children endured these attacks in the presence of her children.

The violence was triggered by her husband's betrayals, as he beat her to prevent her from interfering in his secret relationships.

Yesterday, after yet another attack, the woman found the courage to report her husband, encouraged by the support of the Carabinieri who promised her protection.
