Two young men from San Martino Valle Caudina, aged 23 and 24, were arrested by the Carabinieri on charges of attempted aggravated murder.
The attack, which occurred last Saturday in Cervinara, reportedly stemmed from a heated argument with a 32-year-old man, likely over old financial issues.
During the violent argument, both brothers reportedly fired several gunshots at the victim, seriously wounding her in the chest and abdomen.
The escape and the arrest
In an attempt to escape justice, the two brothers were found aboard a train headed to Sestri Levante, Liguria, with tickets purchased in someone else's name.

Thanks to the investigations of the Carabinieri, who analyzed the images from the surveillance cameras and constantly monitored the movements of the suspects, it was possible to identify them with certainty as the perpetrators of the injury.
The arrest in flagrante
Given the concrete risk of escape, the public prosecutor issued an arrest warrant against the two brothers, who were arrested on board the train.
The two young men are charged with attempted murder aggravated by premeditation and illegal possession of a firearm. The investigation is ongoing to reconstruct the details of the attack and identify any accomplices.
