Wild West in Afragola, Shooting in Broad Daylight: Uncle and Nephew Injured

A new wave of violence has shocked the city of Afragola this afternoon.

In broad daylight, a commando of about ten people, armed and with their faces covered, spread panic in Via Morelli, opening fire on two men, Salvatore Strong and Catello Forte, uncle and nephew, both with criminal records.

The attack happened very quickly. The attackers, who arrived on motorcycles and scooters, fired about twenty gunshots, grazing Salvatore Forte. Catello Forte, on the other hand, was wounded by the neck of a broken bottle.

Panic among passers-by

The scene, like a Western movie, threw the many passers-by into panic. Hundreds of people ran away, seeking shelter behind parked cars or in the entrances of buildings. The fear was palpable, with witnesses reporting moments of terror.

The agents of the Afragola police station and the Naples mobile squad intervened on the spot. The investigations, coordinated by the Anti-Mafia District Directorate, are still ongoing, but the most accredited hypothesis is that of a settling of scores linked to drug trafficking.

A city in shock

This latest episode of violence turns the spotlight back on the situation in Afragola. Only a few months ago, the city had been , of a violent brawl in Piazza Castello, between two rival families, which ended with several injuries.

The resurgence of organized crime is causing deep concern among citizens, who are calling for greater controls and decisive intervention by institutions to restore legality.
