A quiet afternoon in via Ripuaria, in Giugliano, was shocked by an unfortunate episode. In a small residential park, hidden by a green gate, a 27-year-old of Senegalese origins decided to organize a barbecue.
Nothing strange, except for the fact that he used a damaged gas cylinder to fuel the fire, putting the safety of the residents at risk.
Alarmed by the potentially dangerous situation, neighbors immediately called the police. When the officers arrived, the man not only refused to put out the fire, but began threatening and insulting them, eventually resorting to physical violence.
He kicked and punched the policemen, even trying to injure them with a pair of scissors hidden in his trousers.
Despite the attacker's violence, the Carabinieri managed to subdue him and arrest him, with the help of other patrols. The man is now in prison, while the two soldiers injured in the attack are expected to be released with a prognosis of a few days.
This episode, in addition to underlining the importance of reporting suspicious or dangerous behavior, also highlights the risk we run when we perform reckless actions, putting ourselves and others in danger.
