The Torre Annunziata Public Prosecutor's Office has opened an investigation into the death of 7-year-old Giuseppe Grieco, who drowned this morning after diving into the swimming pool of a Castanito farmhouse in Sant'Andrea di Vico Equense.

The first forensic and accident scene investigations concluded shortly before 15:XNUMX p.m. The child's body was seized and transported to the morgue of the Castellammare hospital where the autopsy will take place in the next few days.

The Carabinieri, coordinated by the Oplonti Prosecutor's Office, who are investigating the episode, do not exclude any hypothesis, including that of an illness or congestion that would have left no escape for the little boy.

According to reports, the child was seen unconscious in the water and rescued by the lifeguard at the facility and his parents. Despite attempts to revive him, however, the child never regained consciousness.

When the ambulance arrived with the doctor on board. For over 45 minutes all the resuscitation maneuvers were practiced but unfortunately the heart of little Giuseppe never recovered.

Now the autopsy will determine the cause of death, which transformed a day of celebration into a tragedy and left the family in despair.
