A fire quickly broke out on Mount Pendolo in Gragnano, alerting residents of several neighborhoods in the city of Monti Lattari. The flames, spotted around 13:30 pm this afternoon, spread rapidly, prompting residents to immediately call the fire brigade and the carabinieri.

The fire is moving toward the upper part of the mountain, but smoke has already invaded many homes near the epicenter. The high flames and the crackling of burning trees are generating fear among residents. To manage the emergency, a camp with water stations has been set up in the San Michele stadium.
“We are in contact with the authorities and the Campania Region, at the moment no evictions are planned,” declared Mayor Nello D'Auria.
