Somma Vesuviana. Yet another fatal accident on the Vesuvius state road, better known as State Road 268.
For reasons still under investigation, a man lost his life this afternoon after crashing into a guard rail.
The Carabinieri of the Castello di Cisterna company intervened along the SS268, towards Naples at the height of the Somma Vesuviana Sud junction.
A Fiat 500L driven by a man yet to be identified, ended up at high speed against the guardrail. The impact was very violent and the man lost his life instantly.
An ambulance arrived on site and its crew could do nothing but confirm the death of the man in the car.
Inspection by the Carabinieri of the Investigative Unit of Castello di Cisterna to carry out the surveys and start the investigations together with a coroner for an initial inspection of the victim's body.
Road traffic in the stretch of road affected by the fatal accident is still blocked.
