Nowadays, everyone has a smartphone, tablet or pocket or portable electronic device from which you can even play from anywhere. Usually, the solution for many online players is to connect through a browser and play online with this type of navigation. However, if playing on a browser from a PC or tablet is certainly a quick and fairly practical method, doing it from a phone is a little less so. This is why mobile applications exist.

Your device will then have direct access to the casino you are registered with if you equip yourself with these apps, which are able to offer you the same games and bets as the web platform you may be used to. Green Casino, for example, has a dedicated, branded app that's easy to find and download.

Let's see, however, how these apps work in general and how to install them on an Android device.

Steps to Install a Casino App on Your Device

If you are getting ready to turn your smartphone into a pocket casino, then there is nothing better than following these simple steps to install the app of the casino you have chosen and to which you are registered or subscribed, with which you can then start playing in the blink of an eye even on the go, wherever you are.

The main difference is the operating system you use. Leaving aside iOS and Apple this time, we focus on the most used ones with Android.

  1. Visit your device's store. This is usually Google Store, which is already installed on your device. Then search for the casino app you want in the search menu.
  2. Once you confirm “Install”, the download process will start.
  3. Wait for the download to complete, which may take a few minutes depending on your device and connection. The app will then configure itself automatically.
  4. Open the application and use it by following the instructions that appear.

Of course, even if you are not registered yet and want to use the app as a visitor user for free, this is possible, but only for some casinos. Other operators may in fact reserve the app only for subscribed users and therefore you will be asked to register to start playing.

Android Apps and Unknown Sources

When it comes to installing applications on your Android phone, it is good practice to stick to the Google Play Store. However, there may be times when you need to allow the installation of an app from unknown sources because it is not in the catalog. What does this mean? In practice, it is the installation of an application from a different place, which is therefore not the official Play Store, and which therefore appears as an untrusted source in the eyes of Google or the device. In fact, the software appears to them as unguaranteed.

For example, you may know of a great casino app that you are signed up to, that is completely trustworthy, and you want to install it. Before your Android phone will allow you to get the app, however, you must allow apps from unknown sources in your phone settings, which is a completely surmountable problem that only takes a few minutes of your time.

Therefore, it is necessary to make this explicit and allow apps from unknown sources on Android through the settings. However, make sure to activate this option to get a specific app and then deactivate it to prevent unwanted apps from being installed. The procedure may vary depending on the device and Android versions, but usually it follows these steps:

  1. Go to Settings (gear icon).
  2. Click on “Allow applications from unknown sources”.
  3. Select “Apps” or “Apps & Notifications” from the list. Select the application you want to use to install third-party applications, typically a browser or the Files application.

That's it. Now you can install an APK from a trusted online source.

Unknown sources, but responsible gaming

Downloading APK files from the selected app enables downloading of the app from unknown sources. However, keep in mind that downloading apps from untrusted sources carries risks, such as losing data from your phone or exposing your personal data to hackers. Alternatively, download these files to your computer and then transfer them to your Android, if you have the option.

Also, know that by enabling the application to download from unknown sources, you will not see a pop-up confirming the action every time.

When you want to download your casino app, be very careful of plagiarism and make sure that it is the right app and the right casino you are going to access from your Android mobile, to avoid unpleasant surprises.

Installing apps from unknown sources

If you want to install apps from sources other than the Play Store, you need to change your settings to allow apps from unknown sources. Remember that if you use this option and install the wrong app, you could compromise your privacy and data on your phone. Check everything carefully before making any confirmations that you might regret.

If you are an experienced user and know the app you are installing, the procedure is still easy and intuitive.
