Father Nicola Gildi, one of the two parish priests of the church of Sant'Antonio di Afrgaola, was sexually insatiable and has been in prison for two days together with the parish priest Don Domenico Silvetro (both accused of sexual violence) and 4 other people to whom they allegedly commissioned the robbery of some smartphones containing images and messages that compromised them.
An important confirmation also in relation to the topicality of the friars' sexual conduct, comes from an interception dated May 29, 2024 and attached to the documents of the investigation and the precautionary order.
In particular, that day around 12,45 pm, Father Gildi's telephone line received a call from a man who introduced himself as "Don Ciro".
The priest was invited to resolve as soon as possible a problem with a boy from Procida…omissis… who had also made him read some compromising messages he had on his phone.
DON CIRO: “So Don Nicola, listen to this. I'm with him now, I'm from Secondigliano… Ailora, give the boy one last helping hand and cut this mess out of the way, so that, you don't get into trouble, he doesn't get into trouble, we don't get into trouble between (inc..), this one and that one….The messages are on that phone, which he made me read.. How do you not know him!!! You want to take me and screw me?”.
Father Gildi, surprised by the phone call, replied that he could do nothing for the boy, but the man began to threaten him, even making him take away the priest's tunic he was wearing.
DON CIRO: “So, I don’t know.. Can we resolve this situation, or do we have to do…???
GILDI: “But what do I have to solve? I want to know what I have to solve? Excuse me”
DON CIRO: “What do you have to solve? I don’t understand.”
GILDI: “What do I have to solve?”
DON CIRO: “The boy wants help, can you give him this help?”
GILDI: “I can't give it to him.. And it's something that has nothing to do with you, and it's something I've already told him 50 times, I can't…”
DON CIRO: “So what should I do, I have to come closer. And do you want to take off your cassock?”
GILDI: “And what do you want to do?”
DON CIRO: “Do we have to get you to take your cassock off?”
GILDI: “But what does this have to do with us?”
DON CIRO: “No, I’m telling you, because he came to talk to us…”.
Father Gildi, receiving the threats, asked him why he was threatening him and the man reminded him that the boy had gone there to tell him everything. The conversation then ended abruptly.
From an investigation carried out on the account used by the man (Don Ciro), it emerged that it was registered to …omissis… a person from Naples- Capodichino, with a criminal record including assault, threats and extortion, the latter to the detriment of a subject who was threatened to reveal his sexual orientation to his parents, if he did not make 6 payments on a post-pay card, a request that was then unsuccessful because the victim reported everything to the Carabinieri Station. Montemarano, in the province of Avellino.
The PG also ascertained that the boy, using the user…omissis…, registered in his name, had contacted on several occasions Father Gildi (12-13-14 May) without success and that from the telematic interception, it resulted that friar Gildi had a sentimental relationship with…omissis…, to whom he regularly delivered money, through top-ups (40/50/60 euros) on the boy's Poste-pay card.
