Pop star Madonna landed late afternoon at Salerno-Costa d'Amalfi Airport.
Coming from Portofino, where she spent a few days in the villa of friends Dolce and Gabbana, Madonna reached Campania aboard a private plane, landing at the new airport of Pontecagnano.
Wearing dark glasses and a large straw hat, accompanied by her 26-year-old boyfriend Akeem Morris, Veronica Ciccone got off the plane and immediately got into a van, leaving the airport.
In recent days, rumors had spread of a mega party that the pop star wanted to hold in the Teatro Grande of the Pompeii excavations for his birthday, August 16, a circumstance later denied by the management of the archaeological park.
Madonna will visit the excavations privately, Naples Prefect Michele di Bari announced yesterday at the end of the meeting of the Provincial Committee for Public Order and Safety.
Special security measures will be in place for the occasion. Besides Pompeii, one of Madonna's possible destinations in the coming days is Capri, an island that has always been dear to the pop star.
