Naples. "This evening I will write to Giogiò. I will contact him directly, through a status message on his cell phone, to tell him that I intend to remember him for the human warmth he exuded, the immense strength he gave, and not for the freezing cold of the mortuary where he lay on that terrible day."

This was announced to the Ansa news agency by Daniela Di Maggio, the mother of Giovanbattista Cutolo, the 24-year-old musician killed on August 31st last year in Piazza Municipio in Naples by gunfire from a 17-year-old, who was later sentenced in the first instance to twenty years in prison.

Tomorrow at 11:30, in the very area where the boy was killed with three bullets, a demonstration will be held in his memory, in which, in addition to his parents (his father is the director Franco Cutolo), friends, associations and representatives of the institutions will participate.

"We will remember Giogiò "The mother continues, "as we have done all this year. We will remember a terrible year, because with my son, all my cells died, those of my body and those of my soul.

"Tomorrow we will remember Giogiò as we have done all this year."

But it's also been a wonderful year, because thanks to Giogiò, we've been able to see changes in the laws passed bearing my son's name and in the so-called Caivano decree, such as the abolition of probation for those convicted of serious crimes and where the crime of stesa is recognized."
