The sea of Naples is once again suitable for swimming in the marine-coastal areas of Lungomare Caracciolo, Castel dell'Ovo and the public beaches of Posillipo. The stretches of sea had been prohibited for swimming following the analyses of Arpac, carried out after the storms that hit the city last week.
Initial results had shown values that made the water unsafe for swimming. Yesterday, Arpac released the new results of the analysis, which were favorable, and today the mayor of Naples, Gaetano Manfredi, signed the ordinance that revokes the bathing bans.
The areas now accessible again include Donn'Anna in Posillipo, the Lungomare Caracciolo near the Rotonda Diaz, the beach known as "Mappatella beach", the stretch of via Partenope near Castel dell'Ovo and Pietrarsa, in the eastern part of the city. A return to normality long awaited by Neapolitans, who can once again enjoy the beauty of the sea in some of the most beloved places in the city.
