Operation “Continuum Bellum 2”: Carabinieri dismantle drug dealing ring and seize weapon
Law enforcement is tightening the noose on organized crime in the Vesuvian area. An intense investigative activity, conducted by the Carabinieri of the Castellammare di Stabia company, supported by the helicopter squadron of the Carabinieri hunters of Puglia, has led to a significant seizure of weapons and drugs.
The operation, called “Continuum Bellum 2”, focused in particular on the public housing blocks of Castellammare di Stabia and Gragnano, places often used as bases for drug dealing.
A hidden arsenal
During the searches, the military found and seized a veritable arsenal. Inside a cellar of a building in Gragnano, hidden inside a perimeter wall, a 7,65 caliber pistol with erased serial number was found, complete with magazine and ammunition.
Ballistic analyses will be essential to establish whether the weapon was used in previous criminal episodes.
A large quantity of drugs
But the operation's impact on drug trafficking is even more serious. In the Savorito district of Castellammare di Stabia, the Carabinieri identified several hideouts set up in the basements of public housing projects.
In particular, the following were seized:
Over half a kilo of crackThe drugs were hidden inside paper napkins.
350 doses of crackThe narcotic substance was contained in a vacuum-packed bag.
755 grams of cocaineThe cocaine was divided into 9 bags.
335 grams of marijuanaThe marijuana was already ready for sale.
1,5 kilograms of hashishThe drug was divided into 15 blocks and 2 envelopes.
The investigations continue
Investigations are still ongoing to track down those responsible for this serious crime. The Carabinieri are analyzing the seized material and are questioning several people believed to be involved in the drug dealing activity.
