In a territorial control operation, the Carabinieri of the company Sorrento they arrested Pasquale Mosca, a 44-year-old from Sant'Antonio Abate, for possession of drugs for the purpose of dealing. Mosca, already known to the police for similar precedents, was stopped while riding his scooter along Corso Italia.
The arrest occurred during a routine check, when the military decided to stop the suspect for an inspection. During the personal search, the carabinieri found 13 doses of cocaine cleverly hidden in the 44-year-old's underwear. In addition to the drugs, the officers seized 350 euros in cash, an amount believed to be the proceeds of drug dealing.
The intervention is part of a wider operation by the police aimed at combating drug trafficking in the Sorrentine peninsula, an area very popular with tourists especially during the summer season. Monitoring and control activities have been intensified precisely to ensure greater security and prevent incidents of petty crime related to drug dealing.
Pasquale Mosca was immediately transferred to prison, where he will remain at the disposal of the judicial authorities pending the hearing to validate the arrest. Investigators continue their investigations to understand whether the man was part of a larger drug dealing network operating in the region.
