Widespread checks by the Carabinieri of the Territorial Department of Mondragone were carried out during the hours of greatest concentration of the movida summer, in the state-owned area of the Camillo Federico seafront.
Yesterday evening, the military personnel of the Arma carried out, together with technical personnel of ENEL, targeted Checks at two itinerant catering businesses which, parked in that tourist area, offered a total of around 300 seats to the numerous local customers and tourists for the consumption of the food purchased.
During the investigations, aimed primarily at combating illegal connections to the public electricity grid, the Carabinieri discovered that both owners were powering their businesses with electricity fraudulently stolen from a supply box, using cables connected underground.
Both traders, escorted to the police station, were reported at liberty for aggravated theft of electricity.
Following safety checks, the technical staff of the electricity supplier company proceeded to permanently disconnect the illegal connections and restore the public box.
