Felice Maurizio D'Ettore, the National Guarantor of the rights of persons deprived of personal liberty (GNPL), has died at the age of 64.
Born in Naples on 22 July 1960, D'Ettore was a full professor of Private Law Institutions at the Department of Economic and Business Sciences of the University of Florence and was a member of parliament with Fratelli d'Italia (2018-2022).
“Irma Conti, Mario Serio, and all the staff of the Office of the National Guarantor of Persons Deprived of Personal Liberty remember with affection, gratitude, and esteem the lofty figure and enlightened and generous work of Felice Maurizio D'Ettore in the service of the Authority that he presided over with authority and foresight in recent months,” reads a note from the Authority.
“Your commitment will constitute an indelible guide for the future activity of the Guarantor”.
