Nothing Brescianini, nothing Lukaku, everything at a standstill in the Napoli market. Today the signing of the contract by Marco Brescianini for the blue club has incredibly come to a standstill, after the sudden halt of Jens Cajuste's transfer to the English club Brendford.
The two operations on the midfielders were intertwined. The English club had an agreement with Napoli for a loan of 1,5 million to be paid this summer with a buyout of 11 million to keep him from next summer: practically the same agreement Napoli-Frosinone on Brescianini.
But the agreement between Napoli and the English club fell through after Cajuste had even undergone the medical that gave the green light to the transfer. Tension between the Italian and British clubs immediately spilled over into the Brescianini deal.
The Frosinone midfielder underwent a medical this morning for Napoli and was given the green light, but there were issues with the terms of the transfer that led to a delay in signing the contract. At the same time, Frosinone faced an attack from Atalanta for the 24-year-old midfielder, with the Bergamo club reportedly willing to pay up to €14 million and now in pole position to land him.

A terrible blow for Napoli's transfer market, which manager Antonio Conte is following with little joy. The club is now trying with greater determination to quickly bring Romelo Lukaku to the Azzurri: they have made Chelsea a €25 million offer for a striker who London manager Maresca is currently keeping out of the squad, but the club is asking €40 million to sell him.
Negotiations remain open, although the failure to sell Osimhen could ultimately lead to the Nigerian striker playing another season in Italy. Meanwhile, on the transfer front, Natan's loan move to Real Betis Sevilla with an option to buy at the end of the season is being finalized.
Napoli resumed training today at Castel Volturno ahead of the first matchday of the championship in Verona on Sunday, a match in which Conte knows he probably won't have his first real striker yet, but he wants a real and encouraging debut in the championship on the Azzurri bench.
