# A Summer of Culture and Fun in Naples

The cultural offering of the Municipality of Naples for this summer will continue until September, flanking a consolidated proposal with new events spread throughout the city, including an art project in Port'Alba and a film festival on the beaches.

### A stage for the whole city

“The whole city is our stage, all citizens have the right to quality entertainment,” said Sergio Locoratolo, coordinator of cultural policies for the Municipality of Naples. This is the spirit of the Manfredi Administration’s cultural proposal. Events from the historic center to San Giovanni a Teduccio express the city’s cultural vitality, enhancing the various artistic forms and regenerating places through art.

### Summer in Naples: music, theater and dance

From August 6 to September 8, “Estate a Napoli” returns to the courtyard of Maschio Angioino, with 30 evenings of concerts, theatrical performances, meetings, variety shows and prizes. Classical and contemporary dance will be joined by hip hop, ethnic and fusion dance, Latin dances and tango. Prose theater and Commedia dell'arte will alternate with comic-musical shows and dramatized readings, while classical Neapolitan song will dialogue with pop, rock, jazz and world music.

### Light installation at Port'Alba

On August 10, “Questi miei fantasmi” will be inaugurated, a light installation by Antonio Marras composed of about 100 lanterns embroidered by the students of the Academy of Fine Arts of Naples. This work will illuminate via Port'Alba, with the intent of redeveloping the ancient street of booksellers and responding to the needs of the neighborhood. This initiative, part of the project “Napoli contemporanea”, aims to enhance the historic areas of the city.

### Musical events and unreleased performances

On September 2nd, Maschio Angioino will host “Napoli Spacca,” a musical project curated by Ponderosa Music & Art with Paolo Polcari and Stuart Braithwaite. This new performance collects and samples the voices and sounds of Naples, providing a sound snapshot of the city.

### The Night of the Tammorra

On September 6 and 7, Piazza Mercato will host the XNUMXnd edition of “Notte della Tammorra”, a festival dedicated to popular culture with performances by Lina Sastri and Enzo Avitabile. The event will include concerts, workshops and a photographic exhibition by Luigi Vaccaro.

### Unimusic 2024: music and culture festival

Between September 8 and 16, the Associazione Nuova Orchestra Scarlatti, in collaboration with the University of Naples Federico II, will present the VI edition of Unimusic 2024. The events will take place in iconic locations such as the Cortile delle Statue and the Cathedral of Naples, which will host the final event “Il Trionfo della Fede”.

### Cinema on the beaches

For cinema lovers, the summer program will include a review directed by Francesco Di Leva, with screenings that will unite the center to the outskirts through the city's beaches. There will be 9 special screenings with special guests.

### First week program

The August 6th opening will be led by Meta Creativa with "Tarantella Show under the Stars in the Maschio Angioino." On August 7th, "Disneapolis," a performance for children and adults, will bring a touch of Disney magic to Naples. The week will close with "Trame d'estate" by Teatro TRAM, featuring four shows reinterpreting Italian and Neapolitan traditions.
