Naples. "Still nothing has been done regarding tourist entry to the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium despite the City Council's approval for about six months."

They underline this in a letter that the directors of the Associazione Tassisti di Base and Or.Sa Taxi sent, among others, to the mayor of Naples.

The unions also reported a video in which a taxi driver was forced to turn back after having dropped off two foreign tourists in front of the sports facility of Fuorigrotta found closed.

The two unions recall that the possibility of allowing tourists to enter the stadium was brought to the attention of the City Council and received a favorable opinion. Discussions were held on a case-by-case basis to define the insurance provisions and visiting hours, but today, August 14, 2024, two tourists found their stadium entrance barred.

In essence, yet another embarrassing situation for the City of Naples, with economic damage to taxi drivers and a negative impact on the image of the city's tourism industry."

"We ask," the Associazione Tassisti di Base and Or.Sa Taxi conclude, "that these technical meetings be set up for early September to provide access to the Stadium to those choosing Naples as a tourist destination in September."
