On Wednesday, theft of American tourists with intervention of the Army, this morning attempted robbery of foreign tourists.

Wednesday afternoon, a new theft attempt was made against American tourists who had stopped at the Mappatella beach to get some sun. Taking advantage of a moment of distraction, a thief stole their cell phones, trying to hide them and then recovering them later.

The operation, according to some witnesses, was unsuccessful and a chase ensued along the rocks which ended with the intervention of an Army patrol which stopped the man.

Another episode this morning with an attempted robbery against a group of foreign tourists. Police and Carabinieri patrols on site. The images of the incident were sent to the deputy of Alleanza Verdi Sinistra Francesco Emilio Borrelli.

“We have been reporting for some time that the Mappatella and Rotonda Diaz beaches have become a hunting ground for all kinds of criminals. Thefts against bathers are increasing, and have sometimes even led to dangerous fights.

Faced with this emergency, the need to monitor the area 24 hours a day with the intervention of a task force of law enforcement that is able to guarantee the necessary safety for users of the free beach becomes increasingly urgent.

Only in this way will we be able to defend the many investments made to ensure bathing and free services for Neapolitans and tourists and we will not allow criminals, illegal immigrants, thieves, to compromise the results achieved after a thousand battles". These are the words of Borrelli.
