The “Giogiò nisciuno te scorda” rally in memory of Giovanbattista took place in Piazza Municipio, at the crossroads with Via Acton. Cutolo, the young musician killed with three gunshots following an argument over trivial matters while he was in Piazza Municipio with his girlfriend, exactly one year after the tragedy.
Together with his mother, Daniela Di Maggio, the deputy Francesco Emilio Borrelli who together with the regional co-spokesperson of Europa Verde, Rosario Visone, Rosario Pugliese regional executive member of Europa Verde, Agostino Galiero provincial co-spokesperson of Sole che Ride and the former President of the Province Dino Di Palma, laid a wreath of flowers at the site of the murder.
Present were the Prefect of Naples Michele di Bari, the Police Chief Maurizio Agricola, the President of the Regional Council Gennaro Oliviero, the Deputy Mayor of Naples Laura Lieto, the Councilor for Municipal Police Antonio De Iesu, and the Regional Councilor Severino Nappi.
“The day before this demonstration,” Borrelli said, “the father of Giogiò’s killer showed up while we were doing an intervention against the moorers at Rotonda Diaz, he stopped me and insulted me along with other kids, all on electric pedal-assisted scooters, publicly claiming to be the killer’s father.
And even today, during the demonstration, he posted a social comment on my FB live, insulting everyone present, writing 'how many sewers in one place'. Instead of reflecting on the parental and educational disaster he was the protagonist of, raising a son who, while still a minor, did not hesitate to pull the trigger and kill Giogiò Cutolo for parking a scooter, he continues to drive around the city with the arrogance typical of criminals.
I asked social services to intervene to protect the minors who accompanied him. As long as we allow the Camorristi to educate future criminals and as long as we allow the strength of crime to be made public by idolizing bosses and criminals, it will be difficult to change things.
In this city, as in many others, the ratio between demonstrations in memory of praised criminals and those in memory of innocent victims is ten to one. We must stop this disgrace. I have presented a bill against the apology of the Camorra in all its forms in defense of the innocent victims of crime, because we must stem the dangerous social drift from which we risk being overwhelmed”.
