The National Park of Vesuvio sent a communication to the mayors of the municipalities in the Park "to request an immediate strengthening of control activities".

This operation aims to "ensure that all activities carried out within the park strictly comply with current regulations and contribute to the protection of this precious territory."

The president of the Vesuvius National Park Authority, Raffaele De Luca, explains: "I felt it was essential to send an official communication to the mayors of the municipalities in the park and to the police stations to request an immediate strengthening of the control activities, already underway thanks to the efforts of the Vesuvius National Park Carabinieri Department.

My appeal is to ensure rigorous surveillance of all commercial, entertainment, and restaurant activities taking place along the provincial road leading to the Gran Cono and along the park's network of trails.

The objective, De Luca specifies, "is twofold: on the one hand, to verify that these activities comply with the environmental protection regulations required by law, and on the other, to prevent any behavior that could damage the Park's unique ecosystem, disturb wildlife, or compromise public safety.

Vesuvius National Park is not just a resource to be enjoyed, but a common good that must be protected rigorously and responsibly.

I trust in coordinated and decisive action to preserve this extraordinary territory, ensuring it can be passed down intact to future generations.

Only through collective commitment and careful monitoring can we ensure the protection and enhancement of one of the most iconic and beloved places in our country."

The note requests particular vigilance over the activities carried out in commercial, entertainment and catering establishments in the municipalities of the Vesuvius National Park.

The Vesuvius National Park requests "support from the Vesuvius National Park Carabinieri Department and the territorially competent Carabinieri Park Units in carrying out inspections, especially in the evening and night hours and particularly during weekends, along the main access routes to the Vesuvius National Park.

Areas where there are commercial, entertainment, and catering establishments, along the access routes to the Gran Cono and at the entrances to the main trails of the Park's trail network, to verify whether the activities taking place at the commercial, entertainment, or outdoor establishments, including excursions along the Park's trail network, are first and foremost covered by prior authorization issued by the Park Authority, and secondly whether they comply with the rules of conduct to be observed along the Vesuvius National Park trail network, which are adequately indicated at the beginning of each trail.

The National Park also reminds that "no activities are planned that could endanger private or public safety, disturb wildlife, or damage flora, geological features, or morphological features." Musical performances may not involve sound amplification or artificial lighting that could cause stress, exceeding the adaptability of resident or migratory species. Finally, "open fires may not be lit, nor may motors or stoves that produce sparks or embers be used."
