Illegal rental of sunbeds in Ischia, business worth 500 euros per day

A man rented sunbeds, deck chairs, umbrellas and other beach equipment to bathers on the beach of San Francesco in Forio, without any authorization and in exchange for money.

For some time now, the men of the Coast Guard of Ischia they kept him under observation.

This morning, under the command of Commander Magi, a large-scale state police operation was launched as part of the national "Safe Sea and Lakes" initiative of the General Command of the Port Authorities, coordinated by the Maritime Directorate of Naples.

This operation led to the prosecution of an illegal rental company who rented out two sunbeds and a deckchair for 20 euros, with an estimated turnover of around 500 euros per day.

During the operation, 50 sun loungers and deck chairs, 30 umbrellas, canoes, paddleboards and numerous other pieces of equipment were seized.

In addition to the seizure, the maritime authority cleared approximately 110 square meters of state-owned beach, restoring it to free use by swimmers. The military has reported the illegal rental company to the Public Prosecutor's Office.
