Buoys and buoys placed illegally in the Marina Grande water area, Capri, were removed and seized during a joint operation between the Coast Guard and the Guardia di Finanza.
The operation is part of the increased controls at sea that for about two weeks have been affecting all the locations frequented by pleasure boats, rental boats and yachts, especially after the case that caused the most uproar, that of the crossing of the Faraglioni, a maneuver strictly prohibited by maritime regulations.
The checks were carried out by the Maritime District Office of Capri and by the local Guardia di Finanza branch under the coordination of the Campania Maritime Directorate and the Naval Air Operations Department.
Sixteen buoys and buoys that had been placed illegally with ropes and chains were removed and seized, with the result that that stretch of sea had been transformed into an unauthorized aquatic parking lot.
The three responsible were identified and reported to the judicial authorities for illegal occupation of maritime state property. The operation, which began at dawn and ended in the afternoon, also confirmed the presence of eleven boats moored illegally.
The military action also extended to the Blue Grotto where the improper use of the concession was discovered and the concessionaire was fined over a thousand euros.
During the joint operation, the Guardia di Finanza finally ascertained the presence of an illegal worker in terms of undeclared work.
