In a scene straight out of a movie, two police officers, a father and daughter, made a spectacular arrest in the heart of Syracuse. The two officers, one serving at the local police headquarters and the other in Salerno, happened to be together near Via Tisia when their attention was drawn to a man who, with speed and skill, stole a backpack from the mirror of a parked motorcycle. The owner, distracted by a phone conversation, had not noticed anything.
The two officers acted quickly: without hesitation, they chased the thief, managing to apprehend him after a short run. The criminal, a 53-year-old man already known to law enforcement for a long list of similar crimes, was arrested red-handed. The backpack, which contained the victim's personal documents and €160, was immediately returned to its rightful owner, who was grateful for the timely intervention.
But that's not all. During the search, the two police officers found a pair of sunglasses in the arrested man's clothing. Further checks revealed that the glasses had been stolen in another theft, dating back to August 20. Again, the items were returned to their owner.
