A 53-year-old man from Benevento was arrested for mistreating his partner.
The arrest was made by the Flying Squad with the support of the Office of General Prevention and Public Rescue.
The officers intervened on the night between August 24 and 25 to assist the woman, after several calls to 113 had reported a violent argument in the historic center of Benevento.
Upon their arrival, the woman was visibly frightened and showed signs of beatings on her face and arms, requiring the immediate intervention of 118.
After having gathered the first information from the victim, with the help of the scientific police, an inspection was carried out in the couple's home, where clues of a previous aggression.
The man, who had fled in his car, was located, arrested, and taken to the police station for further investigation. He was already known to law enforcement for similar incidents with his ex-wife.
The Flying Squad collected the woman's complaint and various forensic medical reports. At the end of the investigation, the 53-year-old was placed under house arrest by order of the public prosecutor on duty.
